Hi families!

Safety Patrol: If your child has any interest in participating in Safety Patrol this year, please have them attend an informational meeting with Mrs. Fiesbeck (Room 107) on Tuesday, October 1st at 8:15am. If, after hearing about how Safety Patrol will work this year, your child is interested, this form will need to be completed before they will be given a post. Forms need to be completed by Friday, October 4th. On Tuesday, October 8 from 3:55pm-4:15pm there will be a Kickoff Meeting in Mrs. Fiesbeck's classroom. If you have any questions please reach out to Mrs. Fiesbeck directly at lfiesbeck@sjschools.org

Laps for Lincoln: Laps for Lincoln is starting! An envelope and some papers were sent home on Friday with details about Laps for Lincoln. Kids can start bringing donations in tomorrow, Wednesday, and Friday. Thank you for all of your help!

Spirit Week: This week, we will be having dress up days to show our SJ spirit! The dress up days are:

Monday: Mismatch Monday: Mismatched or backwards clothes

Tuesday: Teddy Bear Tuesday (PJ's and Teddys)

Wednesday: Wacky Wednesday (Crazy/wacky hair)

Thursday: Role Reversal: Students dress like teachers, teachers dress like students!

Friday: "All In" Saint Joe! Go all out with St. Joe Colors!

Conferences: Conferences will be coming up the second week of October. Here is a link to sign up. Please keep in mind that these are student led, meaning your student needs to attend the conference to present their goals! If none of those dates work for you, please let me know and we will find another day! Students will be working hard on their presentations over the next couple of weeks, creating goals and celebrating their glows of fourth grade so far!

Bookmarks/Nightly Reading: All students should have a bookmark now. This is used to track their reading rate for their good fit books. 4th grade homework is to read 20 minutes a night. Students should fill out their bookmark, bring it back to school and if an adult signs/initials it, they will get five yards each day! Once they finish a book, they fill out the main idea and theme of the book. Thank you for your help at home with instilling responsibility and a love for reading!

Math: Last week, we completed lessons 6-10. This week, we will complete 11-15. Additional practice at home using the IXL Textbook and practicing multiplication fluency will be extremely beneficial.
