Hi families!
Thank you for all of your help and contributions to Stuff-A-Truck! We had a fantastic turn out this year. We reached our goal of 1,000 items so we have earned an extra recess!
Report Cards: Report cards went home on Friday! Please remove the papers, sign the First Trimester line, and send back in with your student.
A couple of things to keep in mind: First, if your child is not a "3", the goal is to get there by the end of 4th grade. Students develop at their own pace! Second, students will continue to get individualized and group intervention in the areas below a "3". Students who are struggling with fractions will benefit from multiplication and division practice. Please consider helping your child practice these facts to memory. In reading it's equally important for your child to read consistently with a book that is not too easy or too hard at his/her interest level. The research supports that if this happens at school and home, along with quality instruction at school, your child can become a lifelong reader. I look forward to continuing our work together!
Calling All Colors: On Tuesday, December 3rd, our 4th graders are participating in Calling All Colors, a program directed by Mary Alice Johnson and Harold Bragg. Our theme for session one is “reducing stereotypes and prejudice.” During our time together, we will read a story, have a group discussion, incorporate a partner activity, and play a fun game with the students.
Math: In Math this week, we completed Lessons 1-4 in Unit 4. This week, we will complete Lesson 5 and take the Section A Checkpoint. Additional practice at home using IXL textbook will be extremely beneficial for students who struggle with this concept of decimals.
This Week:
Monday: PE
Tuesday: Music (Special Switch)
Wednesday: No School
Thursday: No School, Happy Thanksgiving!
Friday: No School.
