Hi families! Thank you so much to everyone who helped with our Kindness Party. It was such a fun time! 


Bear Behavior Ticket Reward: We have reached 20 class bear tickets! The students came up with a really fun idea for a reward. On this Friday, the half day, students can present a new topic to the class! I consider it a passion project. Something they are interested in or passionate about! Some examples I gave were Why Pink is the best color, or why a penguin is the most interesting animal, or even how to do something new. It can be anything that is school appropriate! Students can create a poster or some sort of visual, even just a picture! They can work on this at home or during any recesses, and it is completely optional. Please let me know if you have any questions! 


Spring Conferences: Conferences will be starting this week! Students have been working hard on their goals and slides. I have reached out to all the families I would like to meet with, but if you did not get an email from me and would still like to meet for a conference, please email me and we will find a time. As a reminder, conferences are student-led, so your student should come to the conference with you. If you do not have a conference scheduled, students will still present their slides to you at home. I will email their slides to you by Thursday. Once your student presents their conference to you, you can send me an email or a note saying they presented them, and they will get 15 yards! Thank you for all of your help in supporting a school-home connection! 


Report Cards: Report cards will go home the week of March 3rd. Remember, any standard graded below a "3", your child will continue to get extra practice individually or in small groups through the next trimester. The expectation for a "3" is by the end of the year. 


Math: Last week, we completed Unit 5. We will take the Unit test tomorrow, and hopefully start Unit 6 on Tuesday. Additional practice at home using IXL Textbook or practicing multiplication and division fact fluency will be extremely beneficial for this unit. 


Music: Please remind your student to bring in their recorder and book on Fridays for Music. Thank you for your help!

  NWEA:  The kids did so great on their reading NWEA! I am so proud of them. We will be completing the Spring Math NWEA this week, on Tuesday and Wednesday. Students can bring gum or mints to help wake up their brains! Please try to avoid absences on these days and make sure kids get a good night sleep and eat a good breakfast.   The kids did so well on NWEA! I am very proud of them for all of their hard work.  End of Year Countdown:  We created an ABC Countdown with fun activities/dress up days to end the year.  Here is a link  to the activities! Tomorrow, students can bring an outdoor toy to use at recess. They can also choose to wear neon to make up for Friday :)  Math:  Last week, we completed lessons 13-16. This week, we will take the lesson assessment and start Unit 8.  Additional practice at home using IXL Textbook or Diagnostics will be very beneficial for students.   Lansing: Our Lansing trip will be on this Friday, May 2nd. Please click here to review the information. Chaperones will be receiving an email tomorrow with more information. If you are chaperoning, please send in the $8 museum fee if you have not already. All students and chaperones will meet in our classroom at 7:15, and we will leave at 7:30. Every student needs a snack, lunch, water bottle, and comfortable walking shoes!
